Our Supporters – We say THANK YOU

Kim and I want to acknowledge all those to support us – without them, our hard work would not be possible.  If we have missed your details, please let us know – we try to be flawless but sometimes it is slight off centre 🙂

Thank you – M.A.D

Been a mom is hard, the normal everyday items should not be something added to the shoulders of the mom’s who child is in the hospital I work at.

So when Kim, Recycled Inc manager and hospital dietician, told me about the little cancer patients who were without yoghurt, custard and jelly, I could not sit back, work and then go home to feed my kiddies whatever they felt like.

I contacted a dear friend who runs M.A.D (Make A Difference).  Christie was only happy to help out.  With the donations of yoghurt, custard and jelly we received from M.A.D, we have been able to supply the cancer pediatric, adult and a few other wards with simple supplies for the last three weeks.

Here are a few pictures of the faces that had smiles on after they received their yoghurt. There where a number of patients who we did not photograph due to chemo, facial deformities or other sensitive exposures.  On behalf of those patients, we say a HUGE thank you to Christie and all who donated to the drive.  Every bit helps brighten the days of these patients.

I printed a selection of photographs and gave them to the patients, I wish you could have seen the smiles we got, missing teeth and all!

What a Success!

Letter from CANSA 31 May 2010

Our Garden Party fundraiser held on Saturday at the Kennaway Hotel was a success and we were delighted to receive a beautiful thank you letter, this morning from Michelle Goddard at CANSA.

Our donated items and teddy bears raised a wopping R1279.00.  Thank you to all who supported us, who donated sweet treats and a very big thank you to my family and friend who put up with my constant emails, smses and general stressed moods!  An extra big thank you to Pete and his staff at the Kennaway Hotel for the use of their venue.

I’ll post photos of our event tomorrow.  Not least, I must thank the Lord for giving me the ability to give back to those who need it.  I have been richly blessed and every day I try to remember those who need our out-reach projects and why I’m can’t sit still 🙂
